Maison Mystique
HotelAsia, Thailand
From $430
Maison Mystique is a 22-room boutique hotel in the green hills of Khao Yai, around two hours northeast of Bangkok and a ten-minute drive from Khao Yai National Park. Opened in 2025 by Fearn Kate and Bun Dhadasih, it borrows the look of an old European manor and fills it with fairy-tale detail: lantern-lit corridors, antique curiosities and botanical sculptures. The rooms are grouped into four themed worlds, from the plant-filled Botanical Obscura to the dreamy Celestial Lullaby. Guests gather in the dark green Bibliothèque Émeraude, at the restaurant, or at Bar Mystère for cocktails after dark, with gardens in bloom all around.
Mandarin Oriental Bangkok
HotelAsia, Thailand
From $680
Mandarin Oriental, Bangkok has stood on the banks of the Chao Phraya River since 1876, when it opened as Thailand's first luxury hotel. Its original Victorian building, now called the Authors' Wing, is the only surviving part of the first hotel, and its lounges are named after the writers who stayed here, including Joseph Conrad and Somerset Maugham. Afternoon tea at the Authors' Lounge has been a Bangkok tradition for more than a century. The hotel's teakwood boats cross the river to The Oriental Spa, set in a century-old teak building, to the Oriental Thai Cooking School, and to Sala Rim Naam, where dinner comes with traditional Thai dance and music each night. The same boats link the hotel to the Skytrain in minutes, avoiding Bangkok's traffic, and longtail boat tours explore the river and the city's old canals.
Amanpuri
HotelAsia, Thailand
From $1,050
Amanpuri opened in 1988 on a forested headland on Phuket's west coast, and it was the first resort Aman ever built. Its name means "place of peace" in Sanskrit. Pavilions with temple-style roofs and polished wood interiors are spread through a coconut grove, linked by walkways, lily ponds and gardens, while the larger villas come with their own pools and staff. At the center is a 27-metre infinity pool tiled in deep blue, set above Pansea Beach, a private crescent of white sand.
Four Seasons Chiang Mai
HotelAsia, Thailand
From $825
Four Seasons Resort Chiang Mai spreads across the rice paddies of Mae Rim Valley, around 30 minutes from central Chiang Mai. Designed as a contemporary interpretation of a northern Thai village, the resort combines Lanna-style pavilions, private pool villas, ponds and working rice fields with views toward the surrounding mountains. Beyond the rooms, the property is especially strong on cultural and wellness programming, from rice planting and pottery to cooking classes, yoga, Muay Thai and treatments at Wara Cheewa Spa.
